In the last Assembly Election, Kasaragod Constituency was won by N A Nellikunnu of Muslim League with margin of 9738 votes against BJP candidate Jayalakshmi N Bhatt. IUML candidate CT Ahamed Ali was the winner of Kasaragod Constituency in 2005 Kerala Assembly Election and the victory was against BJP Candidate V Raveendran with a margin of 10342 votes.
